Thursday:
That night, the theatre class had to go see "Woman in Black" in Nottingham. It was supposed to be a scary play, but I thought it wasn't going to be that good. What play could honestly be scary? Little did I know, that play did better than most movies do. It had the audience screaming bloody murder, and jumping out of the seats. There were suspenseful, heart stopping moments. Basically, it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.
Right after we returned from the play, we all hurried back so we could go out to the clubs. It was Sara Hilber's birthday party and they had started without us. So, we rushed to get ready and went to Club It...unfortunately we beat her there, so a few of us just stood there until they arrived. We were literally the only ones in there. Woo hoo! More Harlaxton people started to show up so it was a little better. However, it was still a little boring because like I said, we were the only ones there. By about 12:30 we were tired and ready to go back to the manor.
Friday
Woke up early, finished packing and went down to breakfast. After breakfast, we all loaded up into the coach on our way to Oxford and Bath. We got to Oxford about 11 and had til 3 to explore. Well, everyone's main concern was finding Christ Church College because part of the first Harry Potter movie was filmed there. As soon as we got there, it said the Dining Hall was closed when was one of the main things we wanted to see...so we left and decided we'd come back later after it was open (2:15 pm). We roamed around a little bit, finding souvenir shops. I bought some tshirts and a sweatshirt, plus patches and a shotglass. I'd spent half of my allowance in the first town we went to!
By about 1, we decided to go back to the college and wander around til the Hall opened. We saw the little cathedral that was part of the college and it was pretty neat on the inside. We sat down because some students were about to put on some kind of show. They started after we left though, but we watched them tune their instruments and get ready. By 2:15, we all rushed over to the grand staircase and dining hall. The stairs we definitely in the movie, so we all took pictures with it. The dining hall wasn't in the actual movie, but they based Harry Potter's grand hall from this one. So, we were really excited to see it as well.
About 2:45 we decided to head back to the coach. It wasn't until 5:30 pm that we finally made it to Bath, and it was already dark outside. Boo! We found our Bed and Breakfast and plopped our stuff down. Adrienne, Chelsea, Jessica and I all had a room to ourselves and it was really nice. The pillows were fluffy and amazingly comfortable! The whole place was cute and definitely not basic (wink, Grandma) hehe.
At 6, we rejoined our group with also included Adam, Sarah, Chris, and Daniel and headed out to find some food. Chris led us around in what seemed like a huge circle before we found our destination: Sally Lunn's. It was located in the oldest building in Bath, so we ate there. It was a cute little place and the food was great. I had an 8 oz sirloin which was amazing. Then, I caved and got the cake that cost 4 pounds (about $6). It was well worth it. Warm chocolate fudge in different layers through a warm chocolate cake. Of course it isn't complete without ice cream! The best 6 bucks i've spent on cake. Total my meal was 15 pounds (approximately $22.50). But it's okay, because we planned to eat cheat on Saturday during lunch.
We walked back to our B&B because we were all pretty tired. Everyone came in our room and we're not sure how it started, but we had like a massage party. Everyone got in lines and starting massaging each others backs or playing with hair. It was relaxing and hilarious at the same time. Daniel basically let us put hair ties and everything in his hair making him look girly. It was hilarious! Then Adam and Jessica had a wrestling match. Even though we didn't go out and do anything, and we definitely didn't have any alcohol, we had a lot of fun.

Saturday
Everyone woke up and loaded into the coach after a fabulous breakfast. Our first stop was Wells (where they shot the movie Hot Fuzz) and we went into the cathedral. It was really pretty. We stayed in there, watched a few knights joust on top of a clock, and then went outside to the market. They had quite a few cute things. I ended up buying 2 scarves, a necklace, and a hat. The hat is the kind of hat you would see people wearing over here...kinda fashionable, so I thought it was a good buy for only 6 pounds. You'll see it in some of the pictures.

We left from there and headed to Glastonbury. There, we saw ruins from the 1100's. It was pretty awesome actually. We even saw the supposed tomb of King Arthur. Close by there is even a rumor that the holy grail was buried within some building, but we didn't see it. We wandered around the ruins for a little while, taking pictures and enjoying the scenary. History is a marvelous thing.
Pretty soon we were back in Bath and we all kinda split up. Merrissa and Jessica went to some kind of fashion museum. The rest of us stopped by the Jane Austen attraction. Chelsea and Adrienne actually took the tour, the others wandered around a little bit. We tried to find a souvenir shop but failed miserably and just got wet instead. Then we found Chelsea and Adrienne and we walked around some more trying to find some kind of silver shop. That took forever and I got wet in the process. We did get to see the royal crescent. But then we walked back to the B&B because we were meeting Jess and Merrissa at 6.
When they got back, the tension between everyone was clearly visible. We decided to split up for dinner. Leil, Bonnie, Merrissa, Jessica and I decided to go to TGI Fridays, while everyone else went to the Chinese place right next door. We ordered a drink once we got there, mine was called Summer Peach and was really good! Soon after we were seated and it didn't take long to realize we had the worst waiter imaginable. He ignored us for about 30 minutes, then it took like another 30 or 40 until we actually got our food. Well, everyone else did. I didn't get mine yet and everyone was basically finished before Jess got up and complained. Because of that, we all got free desserts. They didn't just give us a bowl of ice cream. We got to pick whatever we wanted from the dessert menu. Yay!! I once again got chocolate cake and ice cream. It was marvelous.

Everyone else came over when they were finished with their food and we all sat around for a little while. Everyone but me, Jess, Merrissa, and Adrienne were going to see the new 007 movie: Quantum of Solace. We didn't wanna see it though (since i've never seen one). So, while they went to see the movie, the rest of us walked aorund and i wanted to see Pulteney Bridge. The water was kind of lit up which was pretty neat. Jessica's umbrella went inside out and it was hilarious watching her walk around with it like that.
Finally we walked back to the B&B, where we watched TV (CSI was on!). However, I feel asleep shortly afterwards (by like 11).
Sunday
The next morning, we ate breakfast and then loaded back into the coach. Our first stop was the Roman Baths. It was created when the Romans were in England (they left in 409 AD, which means it was before then!). The baths were a strange green color and they were warm. Some how they were naturally warm and had bubbles rising to the top constantly. We saw ruins from some of the buildings that were destroyed. It was actually kinda cool to see it.
Our next stop was to Salisbury, where they have the chapel with the highest steeple in england i believe. I stopped by a little store and got a really cute coffee mug and a few odds and ends. I was happy. We rushed back to the coach and were on our way to Stonehenge!
Finally we reached it and it was quite a bit smaller than I'd imagined it. We walked around it taking pictures and jumping up and down. I became really hyper for some reason and was acting completely ridiculous. Oh well, gotta live up to the American way, right? hehehe! Wasn't long til we were back on the coach, on our way back home.
I tried to sleep but it didn't work very well. OoOoh well. It's okay. We got back to school and ate dinner. I was tired and didn't do a lot of homework. But anyways. The trip was good. It seemed like a busy one but I felt like I didn't do anything or see anything really. It was half way relaxing, and so I enjoyed it. This week I have my second British Studies exam so it should be interesting! Love you.
