Days Feel Like Weeks....

It's Thursday morning and it just hit me...

I've not even been here a week!!

It seems absolutely impossible, but its true. Tomorrow marks the true one week period of being at Harlaxton manor. These 6 days have been absolutely insane and it feels like I've been living here for weeks upon weeks. The girls that I've made friends with, feel like my best friends that I've known for most of my life. It's not awkward between us and we can have serious conversations and turn it into a topic about farting in about two seconds! Haha, gotta love us college girls.

But anyways, life has been grand here. One thing that astounds me is the weather. Because the United Kingdom is basically a huge island, their weather is completely versatile. It will be warm and sunny without a single cloud in the sky and literally 10 minutes later, it looks like a monsoon outside your window. After about 10 minutes of raining, it clears up and the sun pops back out! It's absolutely fascinating, but a little frustrating since you don't know when the rain will strike.

Classes are going alright. My travel writing professor is...interestingly boring, unfortunately. He goes off on these random tangents, and it feels like that class is WAY longer than just 50 minutes long. My Into to Theatre class isn't so bad. We have a lto of people, and it does feel like the time goes by at a decent rate. Now, my British Studies course is killer. We have to read A TON! and I hate reading about history so i'm already seeing a problem with this...lol. My big term paper is over Anne Boleyn, so I'm actually pretty excited about that. Then I have a 10 minute presentation over Edinburgh in a few weeks. I'm actually going there independently soon, so maybe I can find some good information. I hate all these big projects, and considering the time flies by here, there isn't much time to do it in.

The girls decided to take a trip into Grantham, once again, yesterday and try to find Asda, which is basically Walmart. It was flippin awesome! they have these escalators that are just ramps, they don't turn into stairs like ours do. Its so people can put their carts on them and take them upstairs, it's flippin awesome. I didn't notice this until Jamie (the British guy we met a few nights ago--we talked with him at the pub last night again), but they don't have the "hunting" section with all the guns, etc, that we would have in the US. Then again, i don't really think they are allowed to carry guns here. The coppers (police) don't even carry them, apparently they carry tazors. Interesting...

But yeah, me, Meghan, and Jessica decided to walk down to the Gregory last night, which is a pub. I tried one of the drinks there and it was okay. It's basically like beer but its like a cider stuff. It wasn't very good but I still drank it: one pint, over the course of an hour and a half. Can't you tell I'm such a big drinker? haha. But I just figured that I would try a few things while I'm here since it is legal. When I go back to the states, and it's illegal, I won't. The girls here know I don't drink because I don't want it to kill my witness. And I will not get drunk or have more than just one drink ebcause I don't want to be hypocritical. I think life is about experiencing, and no, you don't have to drink to experience life but everything is so much different here, even the taste of things so I decided to try a few things. Am I wrong? No, I don't think God would really have a problem with one drink because I am not hurting my body or disrespecting it by getting a "buzz" or getting drunk. Sorry, random tangent...

Lets see, my ATM card isn't working because the Credit Union decided to block ALL ATM cards and didn't bother to tell anyone. Pissed me off and I'm pretty sure my mother isn't happy. So right now, i'm kinda moneyless and i'm leaving for london tomorrow for the whole weekend. I guess we'll find out how that goes once i get there. Mom is mailing me my debit card and a few clothes, which Im very thankful for. Stupid me didn't pack any nice clothes...lol. But I am pretty excited about this weekend, going to London. Thank God they let us sign up who we want to room with while we're there. Me, Meghan, Jessica, Adrienne, Chelsea, and Sarah are going to have a huge weekend slumber party in one of the rooms! It's gonna be a blast.

Anyways, I know I haven't told you very much useful information. But I thought I'd let you know that I was still alive! I love you all, and love hearing from you! The next time you hear from me wont be until after the weekend and I'll have a bunch of pictures from London to show you! LOVE YOU!
